Does saying 'Yes' lead to feeling angry?

When we are asked to do something which we are happy to do, we feel a lightening of the load, an inner sparkle, a smile because our hearts feel joy. This is our full hearted response

The opposite is ‘I should ... but I don’t want to’. When we say ‘Yes’ when we want to say ‘No’ we experience a sinking feeling, a heavy weight, another chore. This is our half hearted response.

Remember that you can respond to an unwanted request by letting the person know that you are taking time for yourself; that you have plans which are important to you (whatever they may be). Everyone deserves to have time to meet their needs - and that includes you!
